HARU

  • Pedigree name: Ever Wild Can Be My Wingman

    Nickname: Haruta

    Birthday: 31.8.2024

    Breed: Border collie

  • When I was little there was a border collie near where I played in the park. She brought a frisbee to anyone who threw it for her. She did anything for that frisbee with enthusiasm. And I was hooked. I always wanted a border collie, even before I had Tian.

And Haru is everything I could have ever wanted in a border collie. He is enthusiastic about everything he does. He has a clear head and thinks even in tough situations in agility. He loooves his toys, maybe a little too much, since I have to hide them under a cone or he doesn’t really listen what I want from him.

Fun fact: I can not have any more plush toys in my home, because he destroys and eats them without a second thought.

Like a typical border collie he loves to work, no matter what we do. We train hoopers and agility and he doesn’t care which one we do, as long something is happening. On the other side, at home he finds something to do himself, if I like it or not. He brings me all the little things he finds on the floor like: “look what I found!”

He also really like to chew. Since I got him he has a tough chew that last a long time at his disposal all the time inside.

But he also has a soft side when we are home. He loves to cuddle - he comes to me and presses his head with his whole weight against me.

  • Official achievements are yet to come.

SKY

  • Pedigree name: Kraljevi dvor Calypso

    Nickname: Skaaaa

    Birthday: 18.2.2017

    Breed: Standard poodle

  • I really wanted a big dog, that will fetch balls. That was all I wanted since Tian wasn’t even a little bit interested in toys. And oh boy, I got what I wanted and a loooot more.

I got Sky at a time when I was really sick. I missed more then half of schools years, multiple years in a row because of it, and he was my best and only friend for a long time. He had been there for me in my toughest times.

He is a sensitive soul with big emotions. He loves to cuddle and being petted so much, that if he could he would crawl under my skin, just to be closer to me. He hates to be away from me, even if it just in the next room.

We started with agility when he was 6 months old. He always loves to train, just to be rewarded and to hear what a good boy he is. He definitely loved doing agility more than hoopers - he retired in 2024 because he couldn’t properly jump anymore, but he loves to do hoopers as well. Hoopers didn’t come in Slovenia until a few years later, so we started training hoopers when he was about five years old. Since the start he had such a potential in hoopers. He knew quite a bit from agility, so transferring that skills was easy.

Most of my hoopers skills are self thought and Sky is such a great dog to try things with. Every year I add some new command in hoopers, and I can read him so well, that I learn from him what thing works and what it doesn’t.

  • The biggest achievement for Sky was excepting people he doesn’t know in his personal space. As a puppy he would hide behind me when people looked at him or tried to come closer.

He also didn’t like to train inside, because he thought he was doing something wrong as soon as I said no. With time and seeing care free Benji doing tricks inside, he slowly relaxed and now loves to do doggy fitness inside.

    Hoopers competition achievements:

    • November 2023: 2nd place in category Junior

BENJI

  • Pedigree name: Dort silni

    Nickname: Benjika, Beno

    Birthday: 20.10.2019

    Breed: Labrador retriver

  • Benji is a family dog, owned by my brother and mother. Because of that he doesn’t go to trainings as much as Haru and Sky do.

He is a typical lab, with a waging tail that swoops everything on his height. He loves his toys, especially his big pink octopus. When someone comes home, he takes his special pillow and wags his tail and butt with his pillow in his mouth because he is so happy.

I started doing agility and hoopers around the same time with him. In agility I love his independence - I am not a fast handler, and his forward focus. His favorite obstacle is the tunnels, especially the long tunnels in agility.

Fun fact: when Benji comes to an agility place, he runs through all the tunnels in excitement.

He is such a happy dog and easily excited, so his energy goes very quickly in trainings. Often I do just 2 rounds of training with him, because his energy goes that quickly.

Being a black lab in the summer isn’t fun. Last years I don’t train with him in the summer because he does not handle the heat. But he loves water so when we train in the summer the best part is going in the doggy swimming pool and turning like crocodile in the water.

  • I think the biggest achievement for him is being able to compete in an environment full of different dogs. He is dog reactive because he is so easily excited, he pulls to every dog, and even barks if there are multiple dogs who he can not go to in a row. He has a brilliant work switch mode, so even with distraction of other dogs, he is able to compete.

    Hoopers competition achievements:

December 2023: 1st place in Debuttanti category

March 2024: 1st place in Debuttanti category

April 2024: 1st place in Debuttanti category

June 2024: 1st place in Junior category

Qualification for WHOC 2024: combined 1st place in 3 competition tryouts

World hoopers open championship 2024: 1. run: 14th place with Benji

TIAN

  • Nickname: Lubek

    Birthday: 26.12.2010

    Passed away: 10.6.2024

    Breed: Maltese mix

  • Tian was my first dog. I asked my mum for a dog every night for 5 years and in 2011 she finally gave in. Tian came to me at 9 months of age.

At home he was a cute little white companion that had to endure my whims as a 10 year old girl. Throughout the years I thought him trick at home, looking in the books and at youtube videos on how to teach them. Which was a bit difficult since he didn’t like toys and he wasn’t food motivated a lot.

Outside he was a lot to handle. He was aggressive towards the other dogs and the dog trainer from dog school had outdated training methods that now I see weren’t helpful. But despite that I wanted to do something with him, so we started to go to hoopers trainings. The sport was fresh new in Slovenia, and only 2 trainers thought it. It was far from what me and Sky can do now, but for this little 7 year old Maltese mix, it was enough. He had lot of distractions with other dogs around, he peed on the obstacles and on the course, but sometimes we “finished” a course by me walking with him from one obstacle to another.

Unfortunately after a couple of years he couldn’t walk normally - he didn’t develop properly because he was underfed before I got him and his legs started to bow outwards, so we stopped doing hoopers. After that I took Sky to my hoopers trainings and that was when the world of hoopers opened all the way up for me.

He was a brave little mutt that didn’t have any fear and he licked all my tears when I was crying. He slept in my bed above my pillow almost every night andI am grateful I had him growing up.

  • The biggest achievement was just doing a thing/sport with him with other dogs around. Even with his little brain and big personality and a lot of distractions we were able to regularly go to trainings and train hoopers. Hoopers was the longest thing/sport I did with him. Even when he was older and couldn’t walk properly anymore I still took him to agility place where I could train alone with Sky and he loved to sniff everything and then just watch what we were doing.
